I sell on eBay not only because I love to but because I have to. Lets face it, prices have gone up but salaries continue to remain stagnant. For some families a part time job along with a full time job is necessary to make ends meet. So today I write to you in case you are living life in my shoes. I am going to encourage you, that yes, you too can make ends meet by selling on eBay from the comfort of your home, just like me!
EARN $200 weekly
Now that I am working full time I average about $200 a week selling on eBay. Due to some eBay changes the site is going through I am currently trying to figure how to get that number up. I promise if I figure it out I will let you know!
The secret to selling on eBay is to list daily. The other secret is to make sure you have listings ending every day. It is that easy!
WHAT TO LIST
As for what to list it is up to you. For example I just listed a Talbots womens shirt today. I love to sell clothing. It’s easy to list, easy to store and easy to ship. Below is the link to the listing. If you have a similar shirt just select “sell similar” and mimic my listing! Of course you need an eBay account set up first!
Second hand shopping can not only save you a ton of money but with my challenge it can make you money as well! Make sure to read my challenge below and you will learn how to make money second hand shopping!
How my challenge came to be
The other day I found an app for tracking my spending. Once I put my monthly expenses in I was so excited to check out the pie chart. Guess what! The clothing section of my pie chart was a small sliver of pie! That means I save a ton of money on clothing. I can only imagine what someone’s slice of pie would look like if they purchased their clothing at full retail price.
The Challenge that makes you money
This info gave me an idea. I challenge you to cut your clothing cost by shopping at a second hand thrift or consignment store. Try online and brick and mortar stores. Remember you can find new and like new items in these stores. After you purchase your item figure out what the retail price would have been. I then want you to pay yourself the difference in what you saved and place that money in an envelope. Set a goal to do this for 3 months. I promise that you will be very happy to see how much money you have made. Take that extra money and put it in your savings account!
This 4 pc outfit came from my eBay store! Retails for over $160 vs my store @ $45
Involve your teen
Another idea is to present this challenge to one of your teens. At the end of their 3 month challenge you could double any money they have made. But watch out. Teens can be resourceful. They have the time to go browsing, looking for deals in an online store like mine! Many of my items are 60-70% of their retail value. There are some very, very expensive brands that can be found in a thrift store. Though they may be inexpensive in a thrift store their retail price could be crazy expensive. So beware if you plan to double the money they make!
Share your experience
I hope you accept my challenge. Let me know how to make money second hand shopping went for you! Did you try it? Did it work? Do you have any suggestions?
